 | | QUANTUM WALKWAY IS SOLUTION FOR COTTAM POWER STATION | | | MR Site Services | | 18/10/2007 | | | M.R. Site Services has just completed another complex project installing its Quantum Walkway system at the multi-million pound refurbishment of Cottam Power Station in Nottingham.
The project involved installing walkways on the roofs of four separate pump house buildings and linking up with the existing staircases onto a trapezoidal roof. In total, M.R. Site Services supplied, delivered and installed some 300 metres of Quantum Walkway and hand railing.
Commenting on the project, Jo Hendry, project manager at main contractors McGill Services said, “We have been delighted with M.R. Site Services’ work and the quality and supply of goods has been excellent – indeed we have now recommended the company to others.”
The Quantum Walkway is a high quality system designed and fabricated to BS 5395 in 6082-T6 aluminium by M.R. Site Services, an ISO9001:2000 certified company. With many projects, as in this case, the system is tailor made to suit the site conditions. At Cottam Power Station there were few straight runs as Ron Jones, M.R. Site Services’ project manager explained, “The walkways needed to go up, down, and branch off in different directions. We carried out a survey before each phase of the project so that everything could be drawn up individually prior to the manufacture of the system.”
On site, the Quantum Walkway is fitted to the roof sheets using stainless steel screws and purpose-made brackets. | |
