 | | HISTORIC APPOINTMENT MARKS THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA FOR SASH UK | | | Sash UK Ltd | | 27/09/2006 | | | Sash UK Ltd, leading manufacturer of PVCu home improvement products, has appointed Jo Fearne as their new PR and marketing manager. Jo's appointment to the role is particularly significant, as she will be the first female manager that the Barnsley-based company has had in its 40 years of business.
'The window and door industry was typically male dominated for many years. This is no longer the case and we are now pleased to have both men and woman working in all areas of our business. It reinforces our position as an equal opportunities employer and reflects people's changing attitudes towards the industry' commented David Ruzicka, Joint Managing Director at Sash UK.
Jo, 30 from Sheffield, joins Sash from a management consultancy background. 'We felt that recruiting someone from outside the industry was just the thing to revitalise our marketing approach', said David.
'Last year, the industry was full of doom and gloom and it was very easy for companies to become all-consumed by it. Despite this, Sash has worked tirelessly to diversify and re-position itself. Jo's appointment is monumental not only because she is our first female manager, but also because it marks the dawn of a new era for Sash in 2006.'
Jo was thrown straight in at the deep end when, on her first day with the company, she was whisked off to Glassex. 'It was a fantastic opportunity to get a quick overview of the industry. I also had the chance to meet many key people in one day that would have otherwise taken months!' said newly appointed Jo Fearne.
'Having had a couple of weeks to get orientated I can say that it's a very exciting time at Sash right now. Fitrite Decking and Fencing is building momentum and the success anticipated for this summer looks set to exceed early predictions. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. The commercial division continues to be a force to be reckoned with, not to mention our portal division. Sash really has a lot to shout about and this year we're going to have fun doing just that' Jo added.
