 | | NORBORD WORKS WITH MASH ENTERPRISES TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD | | | Norbord | | 13/10/2006 | | | The UK's first and leading supplier of MDF-based picture frame and laminate moulding products, Mash Enterprises, has been helped towards its goals of innovation and quality by Norbord which supplies the company with both Caberwood MDF Standard and Light.
Mash Enterprises is based on a four-acre site near Hull, where the automated factory houses computer-controlled cutting and laminating machines capable of producing 7,500 different profiles and finishings. As well as supplying mouldings to wholesalers, larger contract framers and retailers, the company has diversified into other sectors including flooring, new build housing, furniture and specialised mouldings for the high-end caravan market, particularly in Europe.
The MDF sheet material is cut into strips, moulded and then wrapped in foil or paper. Norbord's Caberwood MDF Light - a light weight, cost-effective option which is up to 20% lighter than the standard MDF panel - is particularly relevant to the production of mouldings for use in kitchen and bedroom furniture for caravans where light weight is a requirement.
Caberwood MDF Light provides the essential properties required when producing large volumes of mouldings: consistent density, stability and quality. A key advantage of MDF is the uniformity that it offers since, as there are no knots or defects, it provides end-users with 100% yield and therefore higher profits.
Clive Mash, Chairman, Mash Enterprises, comments: 'Norbord is an excellent company to work with not only because of the good quality of the products but also the high standard of service which has continued throughout the time we have been working with them'.
