 | | REVOLUTIONARY NEW GLASS RETAINING BOLT USED IN OFFICE FAÇADE | | | Metal UK | | 27/09/2006 | | | Metal UK has completed a revolutionary glass façade in Commercial Street, London that features a unique new retaining bolt that is secured within the glass with an undercut hole, presenting a completely sheer external face.
Metal UK designed, engineered and installed the façade, part of an office redevelopment for developer Aitch Group, in a contract worth £90,000.
The façade has been secured using Fischer Fixings' Micropoint system, which is marketed in the UK by Metal UK, who have been the first to utilise the product in glass applications.
'Micropoint proved the perfect solution for the Commercial Street development because the architect, Buckley Grey, specified a totally flush façade' says Rod Milicevic of Metal UK. 'This is the only product in the world that features retaining bolts secured within the glass, enabling architects to design a completely flat exterior face.' | |
