The new Chelmsford offices of leading law firm Kennedys have been furnished with a wide variety of products from Kinnarps. Products were selected for their versatility, quality and competitive pricing.

When Kennedys decided to move from existing offices in Brentwood to a refurbished building in Chelmsford, the company invited six furniture suppliers to submit designs and quotations. A key requirement was that the furniture contributed to the quality of the working environment and eased the transition for staff, many of whom were moving from cellular to open plan office space.

'The wide range of products available from Kinnarps enabled us to support a variety of needs with a minimum number of suppliers and still provide appropriate furniture for each given area and task,' commented Kennedys' Director of Office Services Neil Bassett. 'We were also impressed with the ability of Kinnarps to work closely with architects, adapt to different requirements and resolve each need with small adaptations in the product, whilst still maintaining the corporate design integrity of the project,' he continued.

Maximising staff comfort and wellbeing through good ergonomics was a key factor, exemplified by the use of Kinnarps' sit/stand desks which can be height-adjusted to suit the task in hand. Additional products included Plus e desking with DiVide 35 screens, chairs from the Plus 8000 range and Series T meeting tables.

A selection of storage products were also supplied, including the Q'Bic range and Tall Boy units. Kennedys estimate that the use of these Kinnarps units cut the cost of storage by 50% compared to the joinery originally planned.

'Moving lawyers into an open plan environment is relatively new and the large volume of paper that characterise the legal industry presents and additional issue. The use of Kinnarps furniture, and the design work that went in before hand, meant that we have delivered a dramatically improved working environment that looks great as well', concluded Neil Bassett.
