 | | PLATINUM FLOORSHIELD PROVES POPULAR AS INDUSTRY TACKLES PART L | | | Springvale EPS Ltd | | 04/02/2008 | | | Platinum Floorshield, Springvale’s innovative insulation board, is helping developers meet stringent thermal insulation targets brought in following changes to Approved Document L of the Building Regulations.
Platinum Floorshield is a rigid, light-weight insulation board with a closed cell system that delivers high insulation properties. The product is supplied in two grades, EPS 70 and EPS 100, depending on the compressive strength requirements. The cells in the board contain air rather than gas, which ensures consistent performance throughout the lifetime of the product.
Commenting on the product, Mike Omesher, Commercial Director at Springvale, said: “Platinum Floorshield is proving more and more popular, and we’re not in the least surprised by its success. It was developed in direct response to the changes in regulatory requirements and is the most cost-effective solution on the market.
“It has a zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), a zero Global Warming Potential (GWP), scores 0.043 on the BRE Ecopoints rating, is completely CFC, HFC and HCFC free and contains recycled content, as well as the boards themselves being recyclable.”
Platinum Floorshield can be used for domestic, commercial or industrial ground floor applications from solid concrete flooring, suspended beam and block flooring, suspended timber flooring or as a part of under floor heating systems, either below a chipboard floating floor or below screed. The product offers at least a 20% improvement in thermal performance over conventional EPS alternatives, guaranteeing the targets laid down in April 2006 Part L are met. | |
