 | | SCREWFIX INTRODUCES “SIMPLY THE BEST” | | | Screwfix Direct Limited | | 31/03/2008 | | | The latest catalogue from Screwfix (issue 91) focuses on offering “Simply the Best” and comprises a collection of products that provide the best deals, are the best for task, are best for general trade as well as specific trades, and which represent the new best brands. Featuring more than 18,000 high quality, low cost building, maintenance and refurbishment items for use by the trade and serious home improvers, this 1188-page issue also includes over 900 new products.
Recognised as being “where the trade buys” and promising a fast, reliable service, Screwfix has added over 200 landscaping hand and power tools, a wide range of decorating sundries, 80+ lines to its bathroom pages, more than 30 sealants, over 60 new paints and a host of access and storage equipment.
The addition of Gardena, Victus, MTD and Honda power tools and machinery, for example, represents a significant range development within the landscaping section. Incorporating irrigation systems, premium hoses, timers and sprinklers, the Gardena range also includes an innovative combi-tool system. Featuring petrol ride-on lawnmowers as well as tractor lawnmowers from Honda, the new landscaping machinery range now features an extensive selection of products to appeal to both the professional and DIY user.
The new, exclusive No-Nonsense range of decorating tools brings value-for-money paint kettles, rollers, paint brush sets and, amongst others, dust sheets to the decorating pages, whilst new paints include the popular Leyland Trade brand with 16 varieties of 2.5ltr undercoat, gloss, silk, matt and eggshell paints.
Cuprinol wood treatments have also joined the section with spray fence treatments as well as treatments for sheds, decking and garden furniture. The new range of Polycell Trade sealants and adhesives will also prove to be very useful.
Bathrooms have been freshened up with the launch of Metelex bathroom accessories from Triton such as toilet roll holders, towel rails, soap dishes, shelves and robe hooks. The exclusive Swirl brand has also been extended with five new shower lines including thermostatic showers in contemporary and traditional styles.
Over 125 new products have been added to the plumbing section which now includes the new 10 to 22mm, polybutylene pipe, Grey Push Fit range from John Guest Speedfit. Boilers have also been extended with the introduction of energy efficient boilers from Vokera. Recommended by the Energy Saving Trust and SEDBUK A rated, these latest additions combine a broad variety of models and outputs with a wide choice of accessories.
The heating and cooling pages have also been invigorated with 33 new items including an innovative whole house ventilation system from only £629.99 and Lo-Carbon energy saving solutions from Vent Axia.
In hand tools, the new Rothenberger range of professional quality plumbing tools includes a selection of pliers, such as the 12" Ro-Fast Lock at just £41.99 (all prices include VAT), together with a wide variety of pipe cutters, shears, deburrers and benders. In addition, there are more specialist lines such as a pressure testing pump at £124.99 and a central heating flusher at £819.99. There have also been enhancements to the Rubi range of professional tiling tools which now includes three new tile cutters from £54.99 to £224.99.
The access and storage equipment section has been stepped up with an increased focus on access products and solutions for both trade and serious home improvers. These include Xtend and climb telescopic ladders, Little Giant ladders and safety steps, a Sherpascopic intensive use work platform, and a multi-purpose 10-way ladder and mini work platform.
A series of “Best Hot Spots” can be found throughout the catalogue and, for instance, include savings of up to £70 on Karcher pressure washers, half priced outdoor lighting, significant savings on decking products and up to 25% off best selling screws trade cases. As well as 3- for-2 offers on several Unibond items, there are £50 savings on sheds, half-priced Squire combination padlocks, exceptional prices on cooker hoods, a half-priced Erbauer 182-piece drill bit accessory set and a wide range of reductions and special offers on hand and power tools. | |
