As part of a partnering agreement, Dulux Trade Metalshield was specified, to revive, refresh and protect the area for visitors to enjoy year after year.
Forming part of a multi-million pound investment by the council, the large 5000m2 outdoor venue holds a capacity of 15000 people and has played host to events, such as the Blue Peter Roadshow, for several years. With such high volumes of people using the facility, maintaining the area is essential to ensure it continues to reflect the reputation Rhyl has built-up.
To guarantee this, and as part of Denbighshire County Council’s cyclical maintenance cycle, Dulux Trade was asked to provide a comprehensive consultation and product specification. Dulux Trade offered advice and expertise on achieving an aesthetic and long lasting finish for the metal ironmongery, including the railings, stairwells and stage area. Dulux Trade Metalshield was applied by contractors Pro PAINT, in a vibrant red, creating a bold focal point.
Dulux Trade Metalshield is specially formulated for exterior metal and offers up to eight years durability. Metalshield offered the ideal protective solution for the architectural metalwork, protecting against corrosion and employing new ‘Barrier Technology’ to lock out air and moisture - an invaluable property as much of the ironmongery is in close proximity to the beach.
“We have successfully collaborated on a number of projects with Dulux Trade in the past, so it was the obvious choice for us,” said Chris Watson, Building Surveyor for the Council.
