 | | JOBS GROWTH FOR NORTH EAST EMPLOYER | | | Inviron Limited | | 12/02/2008 | | | Inviron, the leading building services and facilities management provider, has created nearly 60 new jobs in the North East as a result of securing over £12m of new business.
The 57 jobs and new business, which have come about in the 18 months since Inviron moved into its new offices in Washington, can be credited to a succession of major contract wins and a growing regional economy.
The new roles cover a range of skills and professions, including:
• contract managers
• project engineers
• estimators
• mobile engineers
• skilled operatives
• administrators
• electrical, mechanical and plumbing apprenticeships
The new business includes mechanical and electrical services installations in the education, commercial office, industrial and health care sectors.
In particular, contracts have been secured at the University of Newcastle and Northumbria University, as well as the City of Sunderland College.
Other projects include work in the commercial office sector, such as at Baltic Place, in Gateshead, and East Quay 5, in Newcastle.
Inviron’s commitment to training and apprenticeship schemes is also a contributing factor to its success. Recently, 21-year-old Stuart Widdowfield, of Washington, won two awards from the respected industry body, the HVCA (Heating, Ventilation and Contractors Association). Stuart, an apprentice mechanical engineer, received the 4th Year Apprentice of the Year Award and the George Coase Trophy for Best Overall Apprentice 2007.
Commenting on Inviron’s position in the North East, Alan Crozier, General Manager, said: “The relocation, contract wins and new jobs should enable the business to cement its position and reputation within the region’s construction industry as a company that provides good employment opportunities and high quality workmanship to its customers, both of which we intend to build upon in the coming years.”
