Greenberg Glass, the UK leader in the commercial market for replacement glass, has said it is running £1m ahead of forecast and expects to achieve turnover of around £41m when it reports its financial results in the Spring.

The Liverpool-based company, which has 70 per cent of the emergency replacement glass market for retail multiples such as Marks & Spencer, Gap, New Look, WH Smith and Asda, enjoyed a particularly strong finish to 2007 including margin and profit improvement for six consecutive months.

“We are working very hard to consolidate our dominance in the emergency glazing market and will press on in 2008, expanding our share of the shop-fitting market,” said managing director Nick Owen. The company has already enjoyed considerable success in this market and has completed contracts for the retail glazing at Eagle Centre, Derby and Metquarter, Liverpool. Other recent local commercial developments include the new Picton Pool Wavertree and Wellington Business Park.

Greenberg Glass is preparing to relocate in April from its existing headquarters just off Great Homer Street to a 33,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility at Wellington Business Park. The company has invested in state-of-the-art plant and technology and as part of the move to improve efficiency recently completed a wide ranging review of the business, which included tackling historic debt issues.

“We are creating sustainable growth and have set ourselves steep targets, including doubling existing turnover by 2011,” added Nick Owen. “Increased earnings will come from new product lines and services, such as emergency lock replacement. We are now a preferred supplier to facilities management companies as our reporting procedures are absolutely first class providing real time data on job progress nationwide”

Greenberg Glass has over 20 branches and depots around the country, employing 600 people nationally, of which 120 are based on Merseyside.
