 | | TROX FAN COIL AND DIFFUSER SYSTEM IN MAJOR BANKSIDE DEVELOPMENT | | | Trox | | 21/02/2008 | | | Bankside 1/2/3 on London’s South Bank have been fitted with TROX airside fan coils and diffusers for various contracts totalling £1M.
Neil Addison of TROX UK said: “By working closely with Land Securities’ design team we are able to supply precisely what is required on time and to budget. The fan coil unit controllers were factory-fitted and tested to save time on site. The TROX Design Bureau has a great deal of experience working in this way and is backed by outstanding test laboratories at the TROX factory in Thetford as well as first rate production facilities.”
On Bankside 1 TROX supplied both products and Mr Addison said: “Fan coil units and diffusers are traditionally supplied separately. Because these products are made by different manufacturers who fail to co-ordinate their design, performance problems can occur, notably with noise.
“These problems have been addressed by the system-engineering approach developed by TROX. Fan-coil units and diffusers are provided from a single source, with guaranteed noise levels, thermal performance and air distribution. Indeed, diffusers and fan-coil units can be supplied prefabricated on a common raft.”
Bankside 1, which was fitted with both Trox fan coils and diffusers, provides around 43,000 sq m of office and retail space, of which approximately 2,100 sq m is retail. The building is occupied by publisher IPC Magazine Group.
Bankside 2 and 3, which include TROX ceiling diffusers, provide around 38,750 sq. m of office space and 3,160 sq m of retail space. | |
