 | | GLAS FACADES SUCCESS WITH VISION 3000 | | | Glas Facades | | 25/02/2008 | | | Glas Facades Ltd report increased demand from architects and contractors for Vision 3000, a Swiss window system that offers the highest sustainability credentials.
Timber-cored components faced with aluminium are used to create a technically advanced and aesthetically pleasing double or triple glazed window system appropriate for carbon neutral, zero carbon or PassivHaus developments.
The windows achieve an A-rating under the British Fenestration Rating Council scheme with a whole-window U-value of 1.0W/m2K. Specifiers have control of budget and performance and windows can be specified to meet the B and C energy ratings for applications that do not warrant the most energy efficient option.
The new range meets sustainability requirements using aluminium containing up to 70% recycled material and timber sourced from PEFC-certified sustainable forests. Specifiers can choose from several timber varieties to match windows to other internal building materials, while a range of handles, hinges and ancillary products reflects the aesthetics of the window design and ensures product reliability.
Two versions are available to suit new, and existing, traditional flush structural openings as well as European-style internal rebate check reveals. Vision 3000 enables very large opening windows to be specified with a single pane, side-hung, open-in, casement measuring 1.7m x 2m high easily achievable with no increase in sightlines.
Glas Facades offers architects and specifiers a surveying, estimating, CAD design, management and installation service using directly employed operatives, trained to CSCS construction industry standards. Project documents, such as method statements, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and health and safety documents are readily available. | |
