MUMFORD & WOOD’S CONTEMPORARY™ WINDOWS GO TO THE TOP OF THE CLASS
Mumford & Wood
25/02/2008
Contemporary™ windows and doors by Mumford & Wood have been used in the extension of the Macintyre School Wingrave, Buckinghamshire. Architecturally specified by Hinton Cook Architects this new build addition provides state of the art facilities for the support and care of children and adults with learning disabilities.
These bespoke timber casement windows and doors are made from high quality laminated and clear graded Larch which is naturally durable and provides strength and stability. Factory fitted double glazing using low ‘E’ glass as standard together with high quality weatherseals ensure all Contemporary™ products are fully compliant with Part L Building Regulations and achieve a high degree of weather resistance.
In this project, one exceptionally large window was delivered to site unglazed to be fitted locally with custom-designed stained glass.
“This is a spectacular building designed to accommodate the present and future development of our students,” says Bill Mumford, managing director, Macintyre Charitable Trust. “The design is aspirational and creates a vital energy which is paramount to our care and learning ethos.”
Products in the Mumford & Wood Contemporary™ range contain tilt turn windows and can be supplied in a range of Ral colours, stained or with aluminium cladding. All the tilt turn windows offer high performance and conform to the European burglary resistant standard DIN V ENV 1627-1630.
Mumford & Wood is a member company of The Performance Window Group, The British Woodworking Federation’s timber window accreditation scheme, and a founder member of the Wood Window Alliance.
