MASTERNAUT MAGIC LOCATES THE REPAIR MAN
Masternaut
05/10/2006
Magic Man, the professional damage repair and resurfacing specialists, has equipped their fleet of service vehicles with Masternaut satellite tracking and navigation technology. Masternaut captures and transmits the exact location of every vehicle and this information is monitored through a web interface. The real time transmission of information enables Magic Man to quickly and accurately locate their field based service engineers.
Magic Man provides a wide range of repair and resurfacing services to the construction, insurance, and domestic sectors throughout the UK. Their field based service engineers can repair most things from a full 'snagging' service on a new build through to the internal fittings of a light aircraft. (A snag is a small instance of damage that occurs during the construction process.) Magic Man's service vehicles are all equipped with the Masternaut vehicle tracking system that uses GPS to establish the location of the vehicle. The vehicle identification and position is automatically transmitted via GPRS and is recorded against Microsoft MapPoint® online street mapping. This information can then be accessed via any web enabled PC.
'The Masternaut system enables us to accurately monitor and record the movement of our fleet around the country. With Masternaut we know where our vehicles are at any given point in time.' Said Nicky Thomas, Director's PA. She continued 'This intelligence gives improved efficiencies that can be passed on to our clients, there are also potential applications for health and safety and human resources.'
Masternaut can also be used for job scheduling, in cab navigation and instant messaging between the vehicle and fleet managers. The on board system provides enhanced management information via the Internet or by email which can be used to record driver working hours, improve vehicle and driver security and the overall management of a mobile workforce.
