BRITANNIA KITCHEN VENTILATION PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT…

Britannia Kitchen Ventilation Limited

Wadham college in Oxford is a grade 1 listed building that required ventilation to its new kitchen.

The kitchen has a stone vaulted ceiling and English Heritage would not allow any new structural fixings to be installed when hanging the new large supply air canopy.

To overcome this problem Britannia designed and installed an integral stainless steel support framework allowing the canopy to stand on its own support legs therefore reducing the load on the ceiling above.

The support frame is mounted above the canopy ceiling with the vertical legs dropping down through the extra wide service distribution unit which also houses the mechanical and electrical services keeping them clean and free from grease.

To ensure the exhaust air is free from grease and odours, the canopy is fitted with integral Ultrastream UV filters. Ultrastream breaks down grease reducing the fire risk in extract ductwork, whilst also removing odours, making it easier to locate that kitchen almost anywhere
