I KEEP WORMS UNDER MINE
Cura Vie
13/03/2008
Steel Camellia – hexagon shelter covered in beautiful artwork and new from Cura Vie this spring – provides a decadent home for green enterprises.
Most compost bins and womeries are made from plastic and are designed with utility in mind, rather than as something pleasurable to look at. This is all very well in a large garden but in a small garden or on a balcony...well, they can look awful.
“An encouraging 80 percent of gardeners recognise that recycling green waste and putting valuable nutrients back into the soil...is one of the best ways to save money and improve the health of your garden.”
Royal Horticultural Society
For those not inclined to sit looking at a black plastic tub, Steel Camellias provide a stunning and chic cover, allowing the green activities to happen in style. A pleasure to look at, the stainless steel panels are laser cut and polished to allow each wing or leaf to reflect sunlight, any available greenery or the colours of the buildings around it. The two-sectioned lid is hinged so that hands are left free to cope with rubbish bags or kitchen scraps.
Spring 08’s Steel Camellias hold panel designs by Chelsea Flower Show medal winner Natasha Webb. Her ‘Botanical Butterfly’ design encompasses all that is beautiful in the form and features of the butterfly and its habitat. Steel Camellias are made in England.
“BRINGING REAL STYLE TO CONVENTIONAL GREENESS ENABLES EVERYONE TO GET INVOLVED, WITHOUT IMPACTING ON THOSE LESS INTERESTED!”
ZENOBIA-ANN BAJINA, CURA VIE
Being environmentally-friendly so often seems to conjure up ‘tree-hugging’ images. A Steel Camellia or two can transform compost bins and wormeries into a statement that says you are serious about design and style.
