 | | CONCORD GIVES FIVE-STAR LIGHTING TREATMENT TO YOUR SPACE OFFICES | | | Havells Sylvania | | 28/03/2008 | | | In May 2007, Your Space Offices opened its luxury office facility, Il Palazzo, in the heart of Liverpool’s business district. This Grade II listed neo-Renaissance building, in the former banking hall of 7 Water Street, claims to be Liverpool’s first five-star luxury office complex. The £1 million conversion features concierge service, a private lounge, barrel-vaulted ceilings, nine mahogany-panelled VIP suites, and a stunning 3,000 sq ft central lobby, lined with marble columns.
To enhance this genuine sense of exclusivity and grandeur, while creating a modern, visually comfortable executive environment, Il Palazzo is equipped with an impressive lighting scheme, designed by Concord in direct collaboration with the Your Space Offices architects.
Suspended runs of Concord’s Ovation 65 were used to light the ground, first and second floor offices. Ovation’s slender, linear form, using T5 lamps, has a unique connecting system and variety of fixing options, making it an ideal solution for unusual, non-uniform interior spaces, such as those at Il Palazzo. Suspending the luminaires two metres below the ceiling allows direct light to illuminate all the task surfaces, while indirect upwards light accentuates the historic architectural features of the building.
Ovation 65 is equipped with the latest in intelligent, energy-reducing control systems -- PIR movement detectors, combined with ambient daylight sensors, mean that light levels can be adjusted throughout the day, according to available daylight and space usage, to save up to 40% of lighting energy.
In the reception area, a row of Limburg pendants creates a stylish and welcoming lighting effect for visitors and employees. The Limburg luminaires, with three-ply opal, hand-blown crystal glass, emit light directly downwards, to create pools of light on the surfaces below. At the same time, an internal reflector system allows a small amount of reflected light to gently uplight the architectural features.
(Elsewhere in the building, Concord’s Cassini pendants and wall-mounted luminaires, were specified for corridors and walk-ways, to create an aesthetically pleasing environment for all employees.) | |
