The new Great Stuff Pro Acoustic Fire-Rated Straw foam is the easy and effective way to fill gaps and cracks in applications which have a requirement for fire protection or for compliance under Approved Document E of the Building Regulations (2000) for acoustic performance. It is a one component, moisture curing, polyurethane foam which is perfect for filling, fixing and insulating in a huge variety of situations and is rated according to W=db59 foam sound reduction index.
Uniquely, Geocel’s Great Stuff Pro Acoustic Fire-Rated Straw achieves a true B1 rating, unlike many other fire foams on the market which can only achieve the minimum performance B2 rating. The Geocel product boasts a four-hour fire rating with a concrete gap size of 15mm x 220mm according to BS 476 Pt. 20:1987.
Like all of the Great Stuff Pro foams, the Acoustic Fire-Rated Straw Foam is quick, clean and easy to use. It shows excellent adhesion properties to a wide variety of substrates including concrete, brickwork, plaster, stone, wood, metal and most plastics. Touch dry in approximately ten minutes, it can be cut and sanded in approximately sixty minutes, depending on temperature and humidity and is coloured pink to make it easy to identify.
The Great Stuff Pro range also includes products for all of the common gap-filling applications. Great Stuff Pro All Direction Straw Foam is one of the handiest gap filling products around with a flexible applicator nozzle allowing 360°C application for easy access into awkward areas and is available in 500ml and 750ml cans.
Great Stuff Pro All Direction Minimal Expansion foam is the quickest and easiest way to fill gaps and cracks around door and window frames, in walls, woodwork – in fact any gap-filling job, no matter how big or small. Great Stuff Pro All Direction Minimal Expansion is available in handy 150ml and 300ml cans which keep waste to a minimum for smaller gap filling tasks. The smaller can will still produce a 40-metre long continuous 10mm bead – enough to fill any number of gaps or cracks. They share the same minimal expanding formula giving greater control and accuracy leading to a neater job and less waste.
The Great Stuff Pro range also includes two foams which are applied with a gun for larger jobs requiring maximum accuracy of application: Great Stuff Pro Gun Foam Filler and Great Stuff PRO Gun Foam Fixer designed for sealing around windows, doors or any other large gap. Gun foams are economical to use since any unused foam can be saved in the gun for use at a later date. The foams’ minimal expansion qualities mean that there is less surplus foam to cut away, again reducing wastage and costs. Starter kits - which include 5 Great Stuff Pro Gun Foam Fixer, 1 Gun and 1 Cleaner – are available and include everything needed to complete the job. Perfect for users who have never used a gun applied foam before.
