SIKKENS RELOCATION BRINGS BENEFITS

Akzo Nobel is transferring its premium stains and specialist paints brand Sikkens to its newly acquired ICI Paints facility in Slough where it will join other premium brands in the Group, notably Dulux Trade.

This move confirms that Sikkens will continue to receive the investment in research, marketing and distribution to build on its reputation as a top end brand amongst the trade and to ensure that it continues to provide the performance required by specifiers in all markets from architectural to local authority.

Customers will also benefit from the broad distribution channels that Dulux Trade has developed for decorators and prompt on-site deliveries for the contractor base.

Steve Snaith, marketing director of ICI Paints, said:
“Both Sikkens and Dulux Trade are performance and development led brands. Grouping them together will provide the synergy to create benefits for our customers. For exterior work, both brands have built reputations for the long term protection they offer through using a system approach. We look forward to offering customers real decorative choice with this proven protection”
