Building on the sustained success of its standard 2m wide Scaffnet®FR scaffold debris netting, Protec International is now offering Scaffnet® FR in a 3m width.

“We have received a number of enquiries from customers for a 3m wide product to be used in circumstances where, because of a building’s external design, the erected scaffold is required at vertical intervals greater than can be covered by the standard 2m product,” explained Protec director Darren Moore. “Customers appreciate the features, safety protection and insurance benefits that Scaffnet® FR provides and so we’ve been very happy to introduce this extension to the product range in order to meet their needs.”

SCAFFNET® FR debris netting is flame retardant and the only product of its kind to be approved by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) to LPS 1215.

It also conforms fully to the requirements of the Joint Code of Practice and passes the stringent BS 7955 standard.

Leading construction insurers are closely monitoring implementation of the Joint Code of Practice on Protection from Fire, particularly on projects valued at £2.5m and above. In the Code, paragraph 10.3 specifies that scaffold flexible cladding materials must conform to LPS1215. Non compliance in this respect could have serious implications for insurance cover in the event of an incident and claim.

Even on project values below the £2.5m level, increasing numbers of responsible contractors are implementing the requirements of the Code of Practice.
