NEW SALES APPOINTMENT AT KURAWOOD

Suki Bains has been appointed UK sales manager for Kurawood.

Floated on AIM in 2007, Kurawood plc is targeting the UK building trade and DIY market with its unique Vecowood product, modified timber produced through a unique process which transforms fast-growing FSC plantation timber into solid wood with the attributes of hardwood.

With 17 years experience in the UK timber industry, including sales manager roles at Eastern Hardwoods and EC Forest products, Suki will work across both timber and finished Kurawood products, including flooring, mouldings and stairparts. A member of the Institute of Wood Science, his knowledge of the sector provides the backdrop for his new role promoting a timber product which uses a regenerating resource and natural processes to create an alternative to dwindling tropical hardwoods. The company has recently won a major supply contract with flooring retailer Floors-2-Go Limited which will initially see three of its lines in all of the chain’s 135 stores across the UK.
