Buderus have extended their highly popular and award winning GB162 boiler series with the addition of a 65kW output model to join the existing 80kW and 100kW models. The new wall mounted GB162 offers heating engineers and system designers even more choice and planning flexibility when it comes to specifying modern, high efficiency, easy to install, higher output boilers for commercial applications. Especially when considering multi-boiler cascade systems.

The new 65kW model features the same technology as its 80kW and 100kW bigger brothers with a wide range of features and benefits which set it apart from other similar output models.

The GB162 is a proven high quality reliable boiler from Europe’s leading expert in condensing boiler technology and is equally suited for use as an individual boiler or as part of linked multi-boiler cascade installation.

It is simple and quick to install, being particularly compact and lightweight in comparison with other boilers in its class. At 70kg and only 520mm wide, the boiler is fitted with lifting handles making it easy to transport to even the most inaccessible of boiler rooms. Servicing is also straightforward with all parts accessible from the front. Once fitted, the boiler is whisper quiet in operation, allowing it to be installed in close proximity to living or working areas.

The GB162 has also won an international product design award for its robust ‘engine-block’ ALU-plus heat exchanger. A unique twisted flow channel inside the finned aluminium silicate heat cell optimises heat transfer and maximises the amount of water coming into contact with the heat exchanger. The outer surface of the heat exchanger is treated with a patented plasma polymerisation process which helps to prolong life by preventing dust and particles of combustion from adhering to its surface. In effect this means the GB162 is self cleaning.

The GB162 is simple to integrate into an existing heating system as it does not require a minimum flow rate. This increases specification options and eliminates the cost and subsequent maintenance of additional system components. A separate pump group, supplied as standard, fits neatly below the boiler and includes a modulating pump, flow and return isolation valve with built-in thermometers, connections for expansion vessel, a pressure gauge and straightforward pipework connections which allow it to be fixed to the boiler in just minutes. The pump group also comes complete with its own custom fitted insulation pack for a neat and tidy finish.

GB162 boilers modulate down to just 19% of their total output so fuel consumption is always precisely matched to the heat demand. They operate at efficiencies up to 110% (NCV) and are low emission boilers with lowest in class NOx emissions and low CO as a result of their high efficiency levels.

To maximise both operating and fuel efficiency, the Buderus EMS (Energy Management System) controls platform allows the boiler to continually communicate with heating system controls. There’s also the option of the RC35 plug in programmer which is simple to operate for the end user, yet provides the heating engineer with comprehensive functionality and diagnostic capabilities.

As renewables begin to play an increasing role in response to environmental considerations, the GB162 has a major advantage in being fully solar prepared to work in conjunction with Buderus’s recently launched commercial solar panel system and to deliver maximum efficiency.

The GB162 65kW perfectly balances advanced heating technology with ease of installation and ease of use for the end user.

For larger heating requirements the GB162 can be combined as part of a high efficiency multi-boiler cascade system including 65kW, 80kW and 100kW boilers as appropriate for the installation requirements. They can be connected either in line or back-to-back and four boilers in a cascade occupy just one square metre of space.

Each cascade system is supplied complete with ready to assemble framework, fittings and accessories. The multi-boiler condensing cascade system allows a more flexible and cost effective approach to a single large boiler as individual boilers come into and out of operation as heat demand changes. In the summer months for instance only part of the system needs to operate and each boiler can automatically modulate to enable it to remain in condensing mode for as long as possible, maximising efficiency. The system can also be programmed to automatically cycle the boilers in operation to reduce wear and tear and increase longevity by evening out boiler usage.

The GB162 wall mounted condensing boiler range has quickly established itself as the professionals choice for commercial installations up to 800kW because of its energy efficiency, space saving, flexibility and ease of installation.

But Buderus quality goes beyond the boilers themselves with a highly qualified technical and advisory service. This is available to assist heating system designers in identifying all the issues and considerations and includes planning support, efficiency and savings assessment calculations, system design advice and installation commissioning where required.

And now the GB162 comes in three output options giving heating engineers and installers an even wider choice.
