 | | MORE AWARDS FOR THE PLATFORM COMPANY’S SUPER APPRENTICE! | | | The Platform Company | | 05/08/2008 | | | The Platform Company’s Stephen Vicary is once again celebrating awards success, having been named Top Plant Mechanics Access Platforms Apprentice and Apprentice of the Year at the National Construction College’s annual awards ceremony.
Steve, who works as an apprentice at The Platform Company’s Bristol branch, was one of sixteen apprentices recognised and presented with an award by former boxing world champion Barry McGuigan at the college’s annual ceremony. James Watson, Branch Manager at the Bristol Depot sees Steve’s successes as a great positive for both the industry and The Platform Company alike:
“Steve’s achievements clearly show the talent and hunger for further education out there, and the need for the industry to grasp onto it. The Platform Company is continuing to invest and enlarge its apprentice programme alongside strong recognised Institutions such as the National Construction College.”
With just one year until he completes his course, Steve is looking forward to beginning his full time engineering career at The Platform Company’s Bristol branch:
“I have really enjoyed my course so far at the National Construction College, and look forward to continuing using the skills I have learnt so far. In a few weeks I’ll be starting my third and final year, and once that’s finished, beginning my full time career at The Platform Company armed with my NVQ advanced level 3 in Plant Mechanics.”
Andy Newell, Plant Training Manager for the National Construction College, Europe’s largest construction training provider said:
“We’re very proud that Steve has won the deserved awards of Top Plant Mechanics Access Platforms Apprentice and Apprentice of the Year. Steve has shown great determination and skill during his time at the College and we look forward to having him back to complete the advanced training programme.” | |
