 | | BUILDING EVACUATIONS - DRAEGER PROVIDES RESPIRATORY PROTECTION WITH EMERGENCY ESCAPE SETS | | | Draeger Safety UK Limited | | 12/08/2008 | | | Designed to provide up to 15 minutes of breathing air, the Draeger Saver CF constant flow emergency escape breathing apparatus allows safe, effective and uncomplicated escape from hazardous environments. Heralding a new concept in hooded escape sets, it can save lives during building evacuations, is very easy to use and requires minimal user training. As the latest addition to the Draeger Saver range, it also combines automatic activation with a straightforward donning procedure and optimum reliability.
Featuring a particularly low cost of ownership, the Saver CF incorporates an ozone resistant neck seal which ensures seal integrity whenever the unit is called into action, regardless of how infrequent that may be.
Conveniently housed within an instantly recognisable, orange carrying bag, the Saver CF is automatically activated as soon as the bag is opened and, in the event of a false alarm, can simply be reset. The bag also incorporates photoluminescent panels which enable the unit to be seen at very low ambient light and visibility levels. Compact and lightweight in design, the washable, flame retardant bag allows water to self-drain and can be interchanged between the chest or bandolier positions for greater freedom of movement.
In addition, the cylinder contents gauge can be seen immediately via a transparent viewing window located on the side of the bag. This obviously enables a quick and simple cylinder contents inspection without any dismantling or adjustment and, as a result, ensures that it remains available for immediate use.
Suitable for use with any face shape or size and by those with glasses or facial hair, the Saver CF has been specially designed to be as easy to don as possible. The streamlined hood also features a wide visor for enhanced peripheral vision and a low contents warning whistle indicates when the unit is nearing the end of its air supply.
The Saver CF utilises a simple fail-safe reducer system with excellent flow characteristics to ensure a consistent air flow rate at all cylinder pressure levels. The combined diffuser and exhalation valve also account for excellent air supply and, depending upon the cylinder size, breathing air can be supplied for 10 or 15 minutes.
A full range of accessories are available including storage cabinets for indoor and outdoor use, safety wash and a waistbelt to prevent excessive movement when the set is worn in the “ready” position. Anti-static bags can also be provided for use in potentially explosive atmospheres together with spare cylinders and anti-tamper tags. | |
