The true benefit of Legrand’s free national training programme has been demonstrated after a contractor who attended one of the courses specified a total Legrand solution for a new £3million BMW showroom in Swansea.

Matt Worton of MJW Electrical had never used Legrand products prior to undergoing the training, which is aimed at educating attendees as to the sheer scope and flexibility of Legrand’s product range.

“I came away from Legrand’s training day not only impressed by the sheer scale of its product range, but confident that it would make perfect sense to deal with one company for every aspect of the electrical fit out,” said Matt.

“At the time I we were in the process of specifying for the Trainer BMW deal and when I looked into matters further I found my confidence was in no way misplaced. In fact, the only thing we didn’t order from Legrand, or its Group company, Ortronics was the lighting – and that was only because they didn’t offer it.”

The Legrand solution for the project comprised cable tray; cable trunking; SWCT; DLP; floor boxes; a wide selection of Synergy wiring accessories, including both grid and metal clad options; 3phase distribution boards; Plexo 66 waterproof sockets; Hypra combined units, custom made panel boards and Ortronics data networks.

The two storey new build project, which features hi-tech show room and office facilities, is due for completion at the end of June 2008 and is scheduled to open for business later in the summer.

Legrand’s area sales manager, Anthony Smith said: “This project really does show the full extent of what can be achieved using solely Legrand products.”

“What many people fail to realise is that we, and our Group companies, offer accessories and solutions for every aspect of an electrical network from the high voltage (HV) ring main unit down, and are therefore in the unique position of being able to provide specifiers with the luxury of only having to deal with one supplier for virtually every aspect of any electrical installation.”

Many of the training courses offered by Legrand are CPD approved and cover a broad range of topics across all of its key product areas – namely cable management, door entry, 3-phase power distribution solutions and Synergy wiring accessories.

Legrand’s dedicated four person national training team can offer specially tailored courses free of charge anywhere in the UK.
