Two replacement chillers, which are quieter and more energy efficient than their predecessors, have been installed to serve the Japanese Gallery at The British Museum in London.

The new chillers, are Aermec air cooled model RV 1202 machines, with screw compressors, and each has a duty of 280kW. They are 7dB quieter than the Carrier reciprocating compressor chillers they replace and with a COP of 3.4 they are significantly more energy efficient.

The Japanese Gallery is in the King Edward Building at the Museum. The chillers underwent full load testing at design conditions at the Aermec factory in Verona, Italy, before despatch.
