Altro, the leading manufacturer and supplier of safety flooring, has launched a new initiative to help flooring professionals understand and master the new industry guidelines on slips and trips.
The Slips and Trips presentation, Now to Reduce the Risk of Slipping, is designed for contractors, specifiers and end users to help them to understand how the new CIRIA guidelines Safer Surfaces to Walk On will impact on their businesses. The presentation is Continuing Professional Development (CPD) approved and can count towards professional status.
Flooring professionals can arrange a one-to-one briefing with an Altro advisor, where they will be able to learn more about slip resistance and other flooring issues affecting a wide range of a wide range of organisations, including schools, hospitals, shops, restaurants, factories and other public buildings. Advice is also available on selection of flooring materials, installation and slip resistance testing.
'Having recently celebrated our 50th anniversary as the inventor of safety flooring, Altro is in a unique position to offer advice and expertise,' said Ron Austin, business development manager at Altro.
'The new publication from CIRIA gives clear guidance on the obligation to install slip resistant floors in many different public areas wherever water from wet shoes, cleaning or minor spills may be present.
'The Slips and Trips presentation aims to put an end to any confusion to ensure that everyone can easily get to grips with their responsibilities and legal obligations and help to reduce the risk of slips and trips and possible enforcement action by the HSE by selecting the right flooring materials for each area of their premises.'
Altro is supporting the new guidelines and has copies of a document summarizing the CIRIA publication available on request. In addition, to the CPD presentation, flooring professionals can take advantage of Altro's own advisory booklet, Slips & Trips: the essential modern guide to prevention, which gives an easy to read overview of the topic.
