Good things come in threes at JELD-WEN, one of the UK's leading door manufacturers, which has reported the huge success of its three new contemporary door styles, launched in 2006.

The Rockport internal door is a daring modern twist on a classic moulded design and has seen major success with builders and developers, making it already one of its highest volume internal door lines. First revealed at the Ideal Home Show in March this year, the Rockport generated huge interest following the show and consumer demand helped to pull the product through JELD-WEN's UK merchants.

'We felt the market was ready for a radical contemporary design of moulded door,' explains Mark Roberts, product manager for JELD-WEN. 'Buyers have welcomed the new look and demand for the Rockport began to soar, with specifications from major housebuilders and builders across the country. The Rockport looks like becoming one of our most popular new products ever and we're delighted it has done so well.'

If the Rockport is top of the moulded door charts, then the Caspian and Aegean win the award for internal glazed doors. These charming classic doors come with a wide choice of designs and both contemporary and traditional glazing styles. The Caspian range features an elegant arched top design and woodgrain skin and the Aegean has a smooth skin and squared top, both of which have

The contemporary style with clear glass and chrome bars in these ranges was definitely a winner with consumers, with the more traditional look, with rose smoked glass and copper glazing bars coming a close second.

Letting light into the home has also proved a great recipe for success, with this year's new Clifton French doorset from JELD-WEN generating significant levels of sales. Introduced to meet the trend for making the patio area part of the living space, the Clifton doorsets offer simple, classic style that enhances either contemporary or more traditional homes. Hi-build factory finishes have also been popular in this range and is an expanding area for JELD-WEN. This superior look and feel to the Clifton, achieved through factory finishing not only gives the doors enhanced performance but also increased resistance to weathering.

'This year designers have been telling everyone how important it is to bring light into the home - but it's true!' said Mark Roberts from JELD-WEN. 'So many of our new products have clever design features that reflect maximum light into the home, so it's not surprise that our glazed doors and French doorsets have done so well. The consumer shows we have attended this year have given us valuable feedback on what homeowners are looking for. We have taken this on board and are looking forward to the release of our new 2007 range of doors, windows and stairs, with a number of modern twists on classic designs as well as some great surprises.'
