Over 260 exhibitors from 25 countries will be presenting their products and services at the 2nd IFAT CHINA on 27 - 30 June 2006 in Shanghai. This environmental fair offers a marketplace in Asia for water supply, sewage treatment, waste disposal, recycling, air pollution control and environmental technology right down to environmentally compatible forms of energy.

IFAT CHINA 2006 has become more international: over 260 exhibitors from 25 countries will be presenting on the Asian market at this the 2nd International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection. The total number of exhibitors has increased by five per cent compared to the previous event.

More than 100 participants of IFAT CHINA 2006 come from Asia. China and Germany provide the biggest participation numerically with more than 80 exhibitors each. Apart from five new joint participations from the countries Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Switzerland and the USA, Germany will again be represented this year too with an official pavilion - as will Italy, which is organising a joint appearance once again.

This time, quite a few countries are newly represented at IFAT CHINA: exhibiting for the first time are companies from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Nigeria, Switzerland and Taiwan.

'The considerable growth in international participation and the massive increase from China itself demonstrates that IFAT CHINA is well on its way to establishing itself in Asia as the marketplace for the global environmental industry', says Eugen Egetenmeir, member of the managing board of Messe Munchen.

The technical and scientific accompanying programme with over 100 items and further special events will ensure an expert exchange between the many nations and participants from the sector. For instance, an Environment Special is dedicated to the provinces of Guangdong and Shangdong and the Free State of Bavaria. The three partner regions will be presenting their environmental protection programmes and innovations in environmental technology. In the Asia Special, the focus is on presentations and talks on environmental subjects in the countries China, Japan and Korea. The BHI Design Institute Day is a platform assisting planners, designers, management and the authorities to take ecological aspects into account in carrying out projects.

In further separate exhibitor presentations, visitors to IFAT CHINA have the opportunity to get acquainted with practical solutions to questions in areas ranging from water supply right down to environmentally compatible forms of energy.
