Implas Ltd has been supplying building products for over 11 years and has recently opened a new factory dedicated to the manufacture of conservatory roofs. Using profiles supplied by Wendland Roof Solutions, the company designs and manufactures standard and bespoke roofs with the help of Wendland's Sympla Software system.
Initial training on the system took place over a period of three days was at Wendland HQ, with technical training officer Dave Little, and two employees from Implas. In order to accommodate its installers' needs, Wendland organises training to fit in with their individual requirements, Dave Little comments: 'We don't just hand over the software and let customers get on with it, we have to start off on the right foot and get the customers to fully understand the software before they can use it to the best of their ability.'
Steve Sharpe, MD of Implas said: 'We decided to use the Wendland profiles as the roofing is quality in terms of both appearance and aesthetic appeal. We find the Sympla system very easy to operate allowing us to manufacture up to thirty roofs a week ... the Sympla system is far superior to the software we previously used.' The programme handles the fabrication procedure to make the Wendland roof systems. Implas and Wendland worked closely to ensure that the setup and data input met all requirements for the design, sales and application of the roofs.
In addition to the initial training programme, and in the event of any problems arising with the installed software, Wendland operatives are on call on a dedicated helpline, with an online web support system available as a supplementary facility. Every call is received by staff trained on the Sympla system so that typical delays associated with matching the problem with the right solution are immediately eliminated. As the web support package is incorporated as standard into every Sympla software package purchased, there are no large downloads for the user.
Sympla provides a full design and manufacturing specification for the creation of conservatory roofs and sidewalls. As the industry's first 3D surface modelling software, it has the ability to produce all of the required fabrication and installation information in detail. Integrating high quality sales images, the layout of Sympla is designed to provide a simple and intuitive route for creating complete conservatories.
