BSW Alouette has welcomed the warm reception to its energy-efficient homes at the Housebuilding show in London.
The company demonstrated the benefits of the Super E timber engineering method, which has already revolutionised house-building in Canada, to the UK's leading housebuilding companies.
The show provided the ideal platform to explore growth opportunities for Super E in the UK following the success of the first phase of the prestigious Berkeley Homes housing project in Kent.
The innovative technique, which is now available in the UK, ensures homes meet stringent environmental standards.
Using leading-edge construction technology, the highly efficient houses provide a range of benefits such as lower energy bills, external noise reduction and improved control over odours and humidity.
Additional advantages include increased insulation levels, advanced window technology, minimal air leakage, an entire house ventilation system, and rain and moisture control.
Super E homes exceed local housing standards and regulations, including the 2006 Part L requirements on the conservation of fuel and power set down by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Alouette timber panelised walls are built off site in ideal assembly conditions, with windows insulation and vapour barriers installed before being shipped to the UK.
