 | | 'MINER DEVELOPMENTS FOR KEWAY' | | | Keway Aluminium | | 07/08/2006 | | | The recently completed development at the former Miners' Convalescent Home at Bispham, Blackpool, used windows and doors fabricated and installed by midlands based Keway Aluminium. The two new apartment blocks, which flank the former home, are built in the grounds of the home and perfectly compliment the colours and materials used on the original building which was opened in 1927 and catered for 132 miners.
Towering six storey's, the two new apartment blocks provide residents with stunning views over Blackpool's promenade and the Irish Sea. By introducing integral top hung window vents at the design stage, the completed installation offers exceptional slim lines which maximised the glazed area of the windows. Transparency is further enhanced by use of mullion free glass to glass joints on corner windows. On top of the two new apartment blocks are large barrel vaulted spaces sealed with curved head composite windows which house the penthouse suites.
Keway Aluminium, are a specialist fenestration installer and pride themselves in offering a broad range of products from various systems companies to suit project requirements. On the installation of the Miners' Home Development, Keith Douglas of Keway commented 'The project threw up some interesting challenges for us at the design stage, but we worked well with the main contractor and completed the work within contract' | |
