 | | CARBON BUSTERS FROM CAT PUBLICATIONS | | | CAT Publication | | 18/09/2006 | | | Centre for Alternative Technology Publications today launch a new set of carbon busting books for people who want to tackle global climate change at home. Each book has a practical project that saves energy, money and CO2 emissions: make your own solar water heating system, install a modern energy efficient wood burning stove, choose a solar water heating installer, or buy a wind turbine for your house.
Following on from mainstream media campaigns from The Sun and Al Gore's new film 'An Inconvenient Truth', the books meet the massive rise in demand for information about the sort of renewable energy projects people can carry out at home. The books provide the practical know-how to back up the campaigns, and enable people to do their bit to help save the planet.
If you're thinking about buying a solar water heating system, or even making your own, or installing a new wind turbine or modern fuel efficient wood burning stove, the books tell you how to work out what you need, how to get the right sort of equipment, what to look out for when you're talking to a salesman. All in all, the books will help you get the right system for you at the right price - potentially saving you hundreds or even thousands of pounds, and helping cut your carbon.
Marketing Manager Christian Hunt: 'We've called these books carbon busters because each one of them can help householders cut their own carbon dioxide emissions. With senior figures like Al Gore saying we've only got ten years to save the planet, people are crying out for practical projects they can carry out at home. Our new books help people to do something positive for the planet whilst improving their own lives.'
CAT Publications have been producing pioneering eco-books for fifteen years. Based in a rejuvenated slate quarry in mid-Wales, all their power comes from a range of renewable energy, including solar, wind and hydro. They have a policy of producing books using FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved or recycled paper and only using UK printers, thus reducing so called 'Book Miles.' Most books sold in the UK are actually printed and bound in Spain or China. | |
