FREE CLUNK CLICK POSTERS FROM FACELIFT
Facelift
18/01/2007
Just as wearing a safety belt was made law, the wearing of a safety harness will no doubt soon become a mandatory obligation to users of boom type platforms. A new safety campaign called Clunk Click which reinforces this message has been launched by IPAF. (International Powered Access Federation)
A series of recent accidents where machines have been struck by passing vehicles, causing the occupants to be thrown out of the cage has prompted positive moves towards endorsing the use of harnesses. If the occupants had been wearing safety harnesses it could have prevented them from sustaining injuries.
This has prompted the call for all users of boom type access platforms to wear a full body harness with a short restraint lanyard attached to a suitable anchor point.
