 | | POLYPIPE CIVILS DONATES PIPE FOR USE IN CHILDREN’S GARDEN |  | | Polypipe Civils | | 12/01/2007 | | | Polypipe Civils, the UK's leading manufacturer of cable protection, drainage, sewerage and stormwater management systems recently donated lengths of its Ridgidrain pipe to be used in a new children's garden at the Rainbows Children's Hospice in Loughborough.
The Ridgidrain pipe, was cut into short lengths and used as 12 planters for the garden. The garden has been created with the help of The Greenfingers Appeal, the charity of the gardening industry currently dedicated to the creation and improvement of the gardens at UK Children's Hospices and was designed to create an inspirational and calm place, for the families and children who both reside in and visit the Hospice. Radio Leicester Gardening presenter, Colin Green opened the garden at the Hospice on 16th September 2007.
John Adkins, organiser of the garden project at Rainbows Children's Hospice comments: 'We felt the children and families who come to the hospice would benefit greatly from a garden area. Polypipe Civils has been very generous in donating the pipes for the garden, and the planters help to make it a colourful and interesting place for those who visit.'
Rachel Roberts, Marketing Manager for Polypipe Civils comments: 'We were delighted to help out with the garden project at Rainbows Children's Hospice. The centre provides much needed care and respite for the local community and we are very happy to see our Ridgidrain product being used for a fun and creative purpose.'
The Rainbows Children's Hospice, which opened in 1994, provides care and support for families of children with life-limiting illnesses. Within the Hospice, resident children and families can make full use of the many facilities on offer, including a multi-sensory room to encourage sensory stimulation, a soft play-room, personalised bedrooms and a music room.
Polypipe Civils fabrication department pre-cut and delivered the pipe to the site on 23rd August. Ridgidrain is used for surface water drainage and Stormwater Management Systems and is the markets first choice in structured wall pipe. |  |
