Warren Farm Holiday and Touring Centre in Somerset has been awarded the prestigious five star Loo of the Year award following the installation of 10 Infinity continuous flow water heaters from Rinnai, the world’s largest supplier of gas appliances.

Family-run Warren Farm offers accommodation consisting of 300 static caravans and 500 pitches for touring vans. The park won the Loo of the Year accolade because of its commitment to providing customers with washroom facilities that are functional, well maintained and clean. Jon Harris, Warren Farm’s owner, said: “Our goal is to continue developing the holiday experience we offer and we are proud to win this award. Rinnai’s water heaters made a tremendous contribution to our success, supplying copious amounts of hot water to keep our customers happy even at peak times.”

Recent developments at the park have included improvements to both the shower and laundry buildings. The 12-year-old hot water storage system was replaced by 10 Rinnai Infinity units, continuous flow water heaters that operate on mains pressure and provide high flow rates of temperature-controlled hot water. Four were installed in each of the ladies’ and men’s shower blocks and two in the laundry room.

Fired by liquid petroleum gas, the eight Rinnai Infinities in the shower blocks were linked in a manifold arrangement to cope with intensive demand, producing a flow rate of 208 litres per minute and allowing up to 17 guests to shower and use washbasins simultaneously for as long as required. For safety, water temperatures were pre-set, using Rinnai microprocessor-based controls, at 43 degrees centigrade, eradicating the risk of scalding and eliminating the need for thermostatic mixing valves.

Rinnai UK managing director, Geoff Hobbs, commented: “We are delighted to have played a part in Warren Farm winning the Loo of the Year award. Meeting the hot water requirements of up to 1,000 guests at a time is a challenge that our Infinity water heaters are more than capable of achieving.”

Since winning the award, Warren Farm has undertaken further refurbishment, installing another eight Rinnai Infinity water heaters in two more shower blocks. Plans for a brand new facilities building include the installation of 16 additional Infinity units.

The Loo of the Year Awards have been indentifying the Best in Britain since 1987 and are recognised standard setters with every entry receiving an unannounced visit from a member of the inspection team. Warren Farm won the National Category Award for Camping and Touring, including Static Caravan Parks for England.
