When Monarch airlines required high quality office space to meet internal regulations and civil aviation remits, Portakabin soared to the challenge and supplied a brand new Portakabin Solus building.

Monarch Airlines needed additional office space to accommodate four of its management level staff who would be working on a high profile project at Luton Airport.

After deciding that a modular building would be its best option, Monarch Airlines put the contract out to tender and chose Portakabin because of the strength the brand name carried.

David Major, Project Coordinator at Monarch Airlines, explained, ‘We were looking for an office environment that would be suitable for management level staff. The demands of a white collar environment meant that we needed a high specification building with technological facilities along with a modern interior and exterior.’

Recently launched to the market, the new Portakabin Solus building is the first and only building of its kind to be designed without telescopic legs, giving it excellent aesthetic appeal.

Large square cornered double glazed windows are fitted as standard, ensuring that outside noise levels are kept to a minimum and thermal performance is maximised. Desk-height access to power and data communication points also makes the office space more practical and comfortable to use for occupants.

Mr Major continued, ‘We had looked at lower quality, similar sized buildings from other manufacturers, but the time involved in adding features to match the specification of the Portakabin Solus building would have made it an impractical option.

‘The fact that the Portakabin Solus building is fully relocatable was also a major selling point for us. When this particular project concludes we have the option to move the building elsewhere, complete with all of its features.

‘The service we have received from Portakabin has been excellent. I found the Hire Centre team to be really helpful and very responsive. The building was delivered on time and to the agreed budget and caused minimal disruption to our staff. These were all key requirements and I would have no hesitation is working with the company again.’

The Portakabin Solus building was delivered with the pioneering Portakabin Customer Charter, which promises to deliver buildings on time and on budget. The Charter states that if Portakabin fails to deliver a project on time and to the agreed contract sum, the customer will be entitled to one week’s free hire for each day it is late.
